Salle Pierre‑Charpy is an indoor sports hall beneath Stade Charléty in Paris. Home to Paris Volley, it seats 1,400–1,850 and features a hardwood parquet floor suitable for multiple sports. Named after Pierre Charpy, the venue is integral to high-level volleyball competitions in Paris.
Salle Pierre‑Charpy opened in the 1930s beneath Stade Sébastien‑Charléty in Paris. Named after French rugby player and journalist Pierre Charpy, it became the home arena of Paris Volley following the club’s formation in 1998 from the merger of Paris Université Club and PSG Racing. The facility was extensively renovated most recently around 2019 to enhance its suitability for top-level volleyball.
The indoor sports hall features a solid parquet floor measuring approximately 44 × 24 m and accommodates volleyball, basketball, handball, judo, fencing, weightlifting, and gymnastics. Seating capacity ranges between 1,400 and 1,850 spectators, depending on the configuration and source.
Integrated under the Charléty stadium grandstands, the hall benefits from spectator comfort and accessibility. It offers retractable stands, protected lighting rigs, modern locker rooms, and direct access to Stade Charléty structures, including athlete facilities and changing areas.
Pierre Charpy was a French rugby union player and journalist. The hall carries his name in recognition of his contributions to French sport and media.
Salle Charpy hosted Paris Volley’s prestigious title-winning matches—including CEV Cup finals in 2014—and continues as a primary venue for high-level domestic and European volleyball.
