LEAG Energie Stadion, originally called Stadion der Freundschaft, is a football stadium in Cottbus, Brandenburg, Germany. It was constructed in the late 1920s and officially opened in 1930. The venue has served as the home ground of FC Energie Cottbus for decades and is one of the city’s primary sports facilities.
Renaming and sponsorship
The stadium was known for many years as Stadion der Freundschaft. In December 2023, it adopted the sponsored name LEAG Energie Stadion through a naming rights agreement that is scheduled to run until 2026.
