About this place

History

The Hill Dickinson Stadium project began as part of Everton FC’s long-standing search for a new home to replace the historic Goodison Park. Construction started in 2021 at Bramley-Moore Dock, a UNESCO World Heritage site on Liverpool’s waterfront. The stadium is scheduled to open in 2025, marking a new chapter for Everton after more than 130 years at Goodison Park. Beyond football, the development is seen as a catalyst for regeneration in North Liverpool, creating jobs and revitalizing the docklands area.

Architecture

The stadium has been designed with a capacity of around 52,888 seats, featuring a steep bowl design that maximizes atmosphere and sightlines. The architecture blends modern facilities with industrial heritage, incorporating brick, steel, and glass to reflect Liverpool’s dockside history. Sustainability and fan experience are central to the design, with modern hospitality suites, safe standing areas, and cutting-edge technology throughout the venue.

Location

Situated at Bramley-Moore Dock on the River Mersey, the stadium lies close to Liverpool’s city centre and forms part of the city’s waterfront regeneration. It is easily accessible by public transport, including train and bus links, with infrastructure upgrades planned to support matchday traffic. Its location on the docks gives it a dramatic backdrop and ties Everton’s future to one of the city’s most historic areas.
