About this place

History

Estadi Nacional d’Andorra was constructed on the site of Camp d’Esports del Consell General, with work starting in 2013 and completing in 2014. Built with government and UEFA funding (€5 million + €2 million), it became Andorra’s national stadium. It opened on September 9, 2014, for a UEFA Euro qualifier against Wales, and since 2021 it has served as home for FC Andorra as well.

Description

The stadium features artificial turf (3G), a standard 105 × 68 m pitch, and holds approximately 3,306 spectators—including about 1,554 seats and 346 standing spots. It includes four floodlight towers and one main covered stand along the west sideline; the other sides are open.

Architectural Features

A functional, compact design with a single covered main stand and three open stands. A television gantry sits in the east stand and suffered a fire in October 2021, but was quickly repaired ahead of a high-profile qualifier. The stadium is situated 1,023 m above sea level, making it one of Europe’s highest national venues.

Who plays here?

It is primarily used by the Andorra national football and rugby union teams. Since summer 2021, FC Andorra also plays home matches here under agreement, with several promotions pushing the club into national and Spanish league tiers.

Records

The official capacity is 3,306, with a record attendance of around 3,631 for FC Andorra vs Albacete in May 2022. It hosted its first match on September 9, 2014 (Andorra vs Wales), and continues to stage UEFA qualifiers, rugby tests, and domestic matches despite its modest size.
