Benchmark International Arena

History

The Benchmark International Arena, originally opened in 1996 as the Ice Palace, has undergone several name changes due to sponsorship agreements. In 2002, it became the St. Pete Times Forum, then the Tampa Bay Times Forum in 2012, and was renamed Amalie Arena in 2014 after a partnership with Amalie Oil Company. Over the years, the venue has become a landmark for sports and entertainment in Florida.

Architecture

The arena features a modern design with a capacity of over 19,000 for basketball and hockey games, and more than 21,000 for concerts. It includes luxury suites, club seating, and advanced multimedia installations. Renovations in the 2010s introduced upgraded video boards, improved acoustics, and enhanced fan amenities, ensuring the arena remains competitive among North America’s top venues.

The arena is located in downtown Tampa, Florida, along the Garrison Channel. Its central location makes it easily accessible from surrounding highways and public transport, with nearby parking facilities and hotels supporting large-scale events.
