Description of the stadium
Anoeta is a football stadium inaugurated in 1993 and serves as the home of Real Sociedad. Originally built with an athletics track, the stadium was fully transformed to become a football-specific venue, bringing spectators much closer to the pitch and significantly improving the matchday experience.
History of the stadium
The stadium replaced the historic Atocha Stadium and was initially designed as a multi-purpose venue. For many years, the presence of an athletics track limited atmosphere and visibility. A major renovation project completed in 2019 removed the track and reshaped the stadium into a modern football arena, marking a turning point in its history.

Anoeta now features a compact bowl design with continuous stands on all four sides. The renovation introduced a roof covering most seating areas, improved acoustics, and modernized facilities. The result is a contemporary stadium that balances functionality, comfort, and atmosphere.
