About this place

History

Rams Park, previously known as Ali Sami Yen Stadium and Türk Telekom Arena, opened on January 15, 2011. Built on the site of Galatasaray’s previous ground, it replaced the 1964-era stadium and became Turkey’s first privately funded club stadium. Construction started in December 2007 and cost approximately €128 million.

Description

The all-seater stadium has a capacity of about 53,978 spectators, including 2,650 seats reserved for visiting fans and 221 suites. It features a hybrid grass pitch (105 × 68 m), heated field, and two large video screens above the stands. Four-level covered stands encircle the pitch in an elliptical layout.

Architectural Features

Designed by asp Architekten Stuttgart with multiple Turkish and German partners, Rams Park is characterised by a sweeping roof structure and full coverage of all seating. The west stand is supported by a distinctive concrete arch. The stadium also integrates 10,000 m² of photovoltaic panels on its roof and includes hospitality suites, media facilities, and museums.

What is “Rams Park”?

“Rams Park” is the current commercial name, adopted in 2023 under a naming rights deal. Originally named after club founder Ali Sami Yen, it later became Türk Telekom Arena and Nef Stadium before taking on this latest sponsorship name.

It has hosted major Süper Lig matches, Champions League games, Turkey national team fixtures, 2013 U‑20 World Cup matches, and concerts by artists like Madonna and Bon Jovi.
