The Maurice Dufrasne Stadium is the largest stadium in the city of Liege. This stadium hosts the Standard de Liège team, but also the Belgian national team on an occasional basis.
Owner
Standard de Liège
The stadium is named after Maurice Dufrasne, president of Standard Liege from 1909 (when the stadium was built) to 1931. He was known to take the players home and prepare a meal for them if they played well, especially during home games.
It is generally known as the Stade de Sclessin, or Sclessin, the name of the district of Liege where it is located.
The Maurice Dufrasne Stadium appears on the cover of the FIFA 2010 game.
