History
Opened in 1983, the Ursapharm-Arena an der Kaiserlinde, originally known as Waldstadion Kaiserlinde, is situated in Spiesen-Elversberg, Saarland, Germany. It has been the home ground of SV 07 Elversberg since its inception. Over the years, the stadium has undergone several renovations to meet the requirements of higher-tier football leagues, especially following the club’s promotions to the 3. Liga in 2022 and the 2. Bundesliga in 2023.

The stadium currently boasts a capacity of 10,000 spectators, comprising 3,410 seats and 6,320 standing places. All seating areas are covered, ensuring comfort for attendees. The pitch measures 105 x 68 meters and features natural grass. Modern amenities include undersoil heating and a state-of-the-art LED floodlight system with an average illumination of 1300 lux, facilitating evening matches and events.
Architectural Features
Recent upgrades have introduced modular steel stands to accommodate the club’s ascent to higher leagues. The stadium also houses VIP areas such as the Porsche Premium Lounge, Kaiserlinde Business Lounge, and Möbel-Martin-Lounge, enhancing the matchday experience for premium ticket holders. The ongoing expansion aims to increase the capacity to 15,000 by 2026, aligning with Bundesliga standards.
What is Ursapharm?
In November 2014, the pharmaceutical company Ursapharm acquired the naming rights to the stadium, leading to its current official name, Ursapharm-Arena an der Kaiserlinde. Ursapharm is a Saarland-based company specializing in ophthalmic and general healthcare products. The term « Kaiserlinde » refers to a lime tree planted in 1913 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Kaiser Wilhelm II’s reign. Although the original tree was lost to storm Niklas in 2015, its legacy endures through the stadium’s name.

While specific attendance records are not extensively documented, the stadium has consistently reached near-full capacity during significant matches, particularly following SV Elversberg’s promotions. The club’s rise through the German football tiers has brought increased attention and larger crowds to the arena.
