On April 13, 2012, the plans for the new stadium were presented at a press conference by the president of Ferencváros, Gábor Kubatov. The capacity of the new stadium will be 22,600 seats and it will be the second largest stadium in Hungary. Moreover, the stadium will be the safest and most modern in Hungary. The plans for the reconstruction of the Flórián Albert Stadium were rejected because this option would be more expensive. Therefore, the old stadium will be demolished and a new one will be built.

The club expects the number of spectators to increase by an average of 10,000. The new stadium will be rotated by 90° and will be closer to Gyáli út. The height is 10 centimeters below the surface. According to the plans, there will be 29 boxes in the new stadium. In addition, there will be a restaurant, a Fradi store, and a museum. The dressing rooms will be expanded from 40 to 400 square meters.

On March 20, 2013, it was announced that the selected company is építő Zrt. The cost of the construction is 13.5 billion Hungarian forints. It is expected that the construction of the new stadium will be completed by the fall of 2014.

On March 27, 2013, the construction of the new stadium officially started.
