Originally known for its three-sided main stand, the addition of a fourth stand in April 2024 increased its capacity to 15,114 seats. Certified as an A-Class stadium by FIFA and AFC, it initially featured high-quality artificial turf, replaced by natural grass in 2018.
Beyond hosting BG Pathum United matches, the stadium has been a venue for international competitions, including Thai cup matches and AFC Champions League group stages in 2021, 2022, and 2023–24.
On July 21, 2024, BG Stadium set a record attendance of 14,114 spectators during a friendly match where BG Pathum United defeated 2023–24 UEFA Champions League finalist Borussia Dortmund with a remarkable 4–0 victory.
