The Real Murcia team played their first match on November 26 in a league game against Real Valladolid, corresponding to matchday 14 of the Second Division. The Valladolid team, which would become champion that season, won by a decisive 1-4 score.

The Nueva Condomina Shopping Center is located next to the stadium.

Although the private promoter of the stadium claimed during the entire project that it would be classified as a five-star stadium by UEFA, thus being able to host Champions League finals, this was ultimately revealed to be impossible as a minimum capacity of 50,000 spectators is required to obtain this rating.

With the inclusion of the city of Murcia and the Estadio Nueva Condomina in the Iberian Bid to host the 2018 or 2022 World Cup, an expansion of the stadium was planned, which would then have more than 43,000 seats, and the number of private boxes and press area would be multiplied. Finally, the chosen bids were Russia (2018) and Qatar (2022) and the project was postponed for the future.

The Spanish national team has played four matches at this stadium against Argentina (2006), Bosnia and Herzegovina (2008), Poland (2010) and Colombia (2017).
